Corona FL 3470 Compound Action Bypass Lopper with Extendable Handles, 1-1/2" Cut,

The Corona FL 3470 Compound Action Bypass Lopper is designed for gardeners and homeowners tackling tree pruning, shrub shaping, and seasonal landscaping. By combining bypass cutting blades with extendable handles and a mechanical compound action, it helps manage tough, overgrown limbs without requiring excessive physical strain.

The dual-pivot compound mechanism multiplies the force applied through the handles, making it easier to slice through resistant branches. For hard-to-reach limbs or thicker growth, the handles adjust from 21 inches out to 33 inches. Extending the handles gives you extra overhead reach while simultaneously increasing leverage for tough cuts.

Equipped with sharp bypass blades that cut with a scissor-style action, the tool cleanly handles live wood and woody stems up to 1-1/2 inches in diameter. This smooth cutting action minimizes crushing or tearing, which helps reduce plant damage and supports healthy regrowth on fruit trees and yard greenery.

Keep in mind that the tool is limited to branches 1-1/2 inches thick or smaller, so larger limbs will require a dedicated saw. Additionally, the manufacturer does not specify the exact metal alloys used in the blades or the total carry weight of the tool.

Verdict: The Corona FL 3470 is a dependable choice for anyone needing extra reach and mechanical leverage for routine yard, shrub, and fruit tree pruning. It provides clean cuts on live wood up to 1-1/2 inches thick while minimizing the effort needed to slice through tough branches.

A great fit if you:

• Need extra reach to trim higher tree limbs without bringing out a ladder
• Want compound leverage to cut through thick, woody stems with less physical strain
• Prune live shrubs and fruit trees that require smooth bypass cuts to protect plant health
• Tackle regular seasonal landscaping and yard maintenance on branches up to 1-1/2 inches

Consider something else if you:
