Detailed Review
The DEWALT 20V MAX 22-inch Cordless Hedge Trimmer (DCHT821B) delivers portable cutting power for yard maintenance without the hassle of a power cord. Designed around a high-output motor, it gives property owners the capacity to slice through dense hedges, overgrowth, and branches up to 3/4-inch thick.
For cutting efficiency, the trimmer is equipped with 22-inch laser-cut blades featuring a hooked-tooth design that helps deliver clean, fast results. It also runs for up to 78 minutes on a single charge. To protect the internal transmission from damage when encountering tough obstacles, an integrated friction clutch absorbs unexpected impacts.
Physical strain is minimized through thoughtful engineering. The trimmer features a design that is 39 percent more compact, which improves overall maneuverability and limits stress on your arms during extended landscaping sessions around the yard.
As a bare tool, this package does not include a battery or charger, so you will need compatible 20V MAX power accessories to run it. The fixed 22-inch blade length and 3/4-inch cut capacity also set clear upper limits on the branch thickness you can manage.
Verdict: This trimmer is an ideal choice for homeowners and landscapers who already own compatible 20V batteries and need a compact, long-running tool for trimming branches up to 3/4-inch thick.
