Detailed Review
The MODOFO Electric Pruning Shears offer a powered solution for yard maintenance, orchard management, and shrub shaping. Designed to replace manual hand pruners, this cordless tool relies on a brushless motor to deliver fast, stable cuts through garden branches, bushes, and small trees without requiring heavy hand strength.
A notable feature is the dual-capacity cutting design. Users can switch between a maximum 2.1-inch opening for thicker limbs and a narrower 1.6-inch mode for detailed shaping and smaller stems. The integrated digital screen keeps you informed during work by showing real-time cut counts alongside remaining battery life, helping you plan tasks without guessing how much power is left.
Power management is handled by two included 2.0Ah rechargeable battery packs, allowing you to swap batteries during longer trimming sessions. For safety and power conservation, the tool incorporates a smart trigger system: double-pressing the trigger activates the shears from power-on, and an automatic sleep mode pauses the tool when it is idle until you double-click again.
As for trade-offs, the automated sleep mode requires regular double-clicks to reactivate if you pause between cuts, which takes some adjustment. Additionally, while the package includes a charging adapter and two batteries, the manufacturer does not specify the exact recharge duration per pack.
Verdict: The MODOFO electric pruner is a well-rounded kit for homeowners, gardeners, and orchard workers needing powered assistance on branches up to 2.1 inches. With its digital readout, spare blade set, and two batteries included, it offers a complete trimming setup out of the box.
