Detailed Review
The Greenworks 24V 4 in Mini Chainsaw offers a lightweight, cordless solution for basic yard upkeep, light tree pruning, branch trimming, and DIY wood projects. Built specifically for homeowners and beginners, it eliminates the fumes, starting cords, and loud operation of gas equipment while tackling everyday cutting chores around the yard.
A brushless motor powers the saw chain up to 7.8 m/s, yielding up to 45 cuts through 4x4 lumber on a single battery charge. Daily handling is simple because the tool weighs just 2.43 lbs. Its compact profile and wrap-around handle give you solid control in tight spots or when reaching overhead, keeping arm fatigue to a minimum during longer cleanup sessions.
Maintenance and safety are built directly into the design. An automatic oiler with a transparent view window keeps the alloy steel saw chain lubricated, while tool-free chain tensioning allows fast adjustments without carrying wrenches. To keep operation safe, a 2-step starting mechanism helps prevent unintended startups.
The main trade-off is the 4-inch guide bar, which keeps the tool light but restricts you to smaller branches and lumber rather than heavy felling. In addition, the included 30W Type-C charger comes with a relatively short 3-foot cord, meaning you will need an outlet close at hand.
Verdict: This cordless mini chainsaw is an excellent fit for homeowners who want a compact, low-maintenance pruning tool that shares batteries with a wider 24V outdoor system. It provides dependable cutting power for yard maintenance without the extra weight.
