Greenworks 60V 54" MaximusZ Zero Turn Riding Lawn Mower, (2) 20.0Ah +

The Greenworks 60V 54-inch MaximusZ Zero Turn Riding Mower offers a high-capacity electric alternative to traditional gas tractors. Built for property owners managing large yards, it delivers power equivalent to a 31HP gas engine using an intelligent brushless motor setup. This design eliminates standard gas maintenance tasks, such as changing engine oil, replacing spark plugs, and handling fuel cans, while providing quiet operation and zero direct emissions.

Runtime is anchored by an expansive six-battery system consisting of two 20.0Ah suitcase-style packs and four 8.0Ah batteries, capable of clearing up to 3.5 acres under typical conditions. Charging the entire bank is handled via the included 1500W wall charger. Beneath the 10-gauge fabricated steel deck, three high-torque brushless hub motors spin the blades at a constant tip speed of 17,900 feet per minute. The onboard SmartCut Technology adjusts power as grass conditions change, preventing the deck from bogging down in dense or damp turf.

Daily yard chores extend beyond mowing thanks to a 300-pound towing capacity and front and rear hitch compatibility. The 54-inch deck supports mulching, bagging, side discharge, and rear discharge across various cutting heights. Operator comfort is prioritized through an adjustable suspension seat with built-in lumbar support, foldable armrests, dual LED headlights for visibility, and an integrated LCD to monitor machine status.

A notable consideration is the overall size and charging setup. The 54-inch cutting deck requires wide storage clearance in a shed or garage. Additionally, managing a combined set of six batteries means dedicating wall space to the high-wattage charger between mowings, though the system avoids all liquid fuel maintenance.

Verdict: The Greenworks 60V MaximusZ is an ideal choice for property owners with up to 3.5 acres who want heavy-duty cutting capability without gas engine maintenance. It provides commercial-grade power, adaptable discharge options, and a comfortable ride backed by a 4-year warranty.
