Detailed Review
The AMERISUN 170CC 22-Inch Gas Walk Behind String Trimmer is designed to handle overgrown properties, fields, and tough brush that overwhelm standard handheld trimmers. Supported on rolling wheels, it takes the heavy lifting off your back and shoulders while clearing thick weeds, tall grass, and light brush across expansive yards.
At the heart of the machine is a 170cc 4-stroke OHV gas engine with forced-air cooling. Because it runs on a standard four-stroke cycle, you do not have to pre-mix oil and fuel before filling the tank. Its 22-inch cutting path allows you to cover broad open spaces quickly, while the offset trimmer head design lets you guide the line right alongside fences, walls, and tree lines.
Maneuvering across rough ground is made easier by the large 14-inch high wheels, which provide ground clearance over outdoor obstacles and uneven patches. You can also adapt the machine to different growth conditions by setting the adjustable cutting height anywhere between 1.9 inches and 4.0 inches.
Keep in mind that this is a dedicated gas-powered walk-behind unit, which requires standard engine maintenance and regular fuel. Its wider frame also makes it less suited for navigating tightly packed flower beds or extremely narrow garden pathways compared to a compact handheld unit.
Verdict: The AMERISUN 170CC String Trimmer is a solid choice for landowners and homeowners managing large lots, fence lines, and overgrown terrain. Its wide cutting swath and high wheels deliver practical power and mobility without the physical strain of carrying a handheld tool.
