Detailed Review
The AVID POWER 20V Cordless Electric Drill Kit provides everyday homeowners and DIY hobbyists with a straightforward tool for household assembly and light repairs. Built around a 20V lithium-ion battery, this drill delivers up to 280 in-lbs of torque with a variable speed range of 0 to 550 RPM, making it practical for hanging shelves, assembling flat-pack furniture, or handling craft projects without unnecessary complexity.
Daily usability is supported by a lightweight 2.5-pound design fitted with a rubberized grip, helping reduce strain during extended tasks. The 3/8-inch keyless chuck lets you swap bits by hand quickly, while an integrated LED light illuminates dark cabinet corners and work surfaces. To keep you informed during tasks, the battery features a real-time power display so you know when it is time to recharge.
The kit comes equipped with 22 accessories, including 10 driver bits, 10 drill bits, an extension bar, and a flexible shaft for awkward angles. Its 15+1 torque clutch gives you fine control to drive fasteners flush without stripping screws in drywall, wood, plastics, and metal plates up to 3/8-inch thick.
Keep in mind that this tool has distinct operating limits. It cannot drill into concrete or masonry walls, and it is not compatible with drill bits larger than 25mm. Additionally, it must be powered solely by AVID POWER brand batteries, and the battery requires full charging upon arrival and recharging every three months when stored.
Verdict: This compact drill set is an ideal choice for beginners and homeowners who need a ready-to-use tool for routine furniture assembly, hanging decor, and light maintenance around the house. It balances practical torque control with manageable weight for low-frequency DIY tasks.
