Bahco BAH396LAP Laplander Folding Saw, 7-1/2" Blade, Ergo Grip, Green

The Bahco Laplander folding saw is a dedicated outdoor cutting tool designed for campers, hunters, and bushcraft enthusiasts. It tackles everything from trail maintenance and campsite preparation to processing wood, bone, and plastic. The compact folding build makes it simple to slide into gear bags or packs for remote outdoor projects.

Cutting efficiency comes from the 7-1/2 inch blade equipped with XT toothing at 7 teeth per inch. This tooth configuration produces quick, clean cuts across both green and seasoned dry wood. The blade also features a rust-resistant, low-friction protective coating, which reduces drag during tough cuts and protects the metal from outdoor elements.

For handling, the saw uses a 9-inch two-component plastic handle engineered for a steady, non-slip hold in wet or dry conditions. A built-in safety lock secures the blade in place whether it is fully deployed or folded shut, preventing accidental closures or openings. The integrated leather lanyard adds extra carrying convenience and helps with tool retention during one-handed tasks in tight spaces.

Because of its 7-1/2 inch blade length, this tool is best suited for small to medium cutting jobs rather than felling thick trunks. The listing does not mention replacement blade availability or specific metal grades, and it features a single tooth pattern rather than interchangeable blades.

Verdict: The Bahco Laplander is an excellent, compact field tool for backpackers, trail clearers, and hunters who need a versatile manual saw. It offers reliable locking, solid grip control, and the ability to cut green wood, bone, and plastic with ease.
