Detailed Review
The Silky Professional BIGBOY Folding Saw 360mm (354-36) is a large-format folding handsaw designed for pruning, trimming green wood, lawn care, and general construction work. It solves the issue of reaching and tackling thicker branches without needing a bulky fixed-blade tool.
At the center of its design is a 14.2-inch (360mm) blade featuring a large teeth configuration of 5.9 teeth per inch (7 teeth per 30mm). This tooth pattern and reach give the saw a 7.1-inch cut capacity, making quick work of live limbs and heavy vegetation. The blade is hard chrome-plated, which protects the metal against rust and minimizes buildup from tree resin during frequent trimming sessions.
For handling, the saw is fitted with a cushioned, non-slip rubberized grip built for two-handed operation. This provides stable control during difficult cutting conditions. When finished, the blade folds securely into the handle, bringing the total length down to 16 inches (405mm) for safer storage and transport.
Because it utilizes a large tooth profile, it is engineered primarily for fast, aggressive wood removal rather than delicate, ultra-fine carpentry cuts. At 16 inches folded, it is also on the larger side for a portable folding saw, which is worth keeping in mind if pack space is limited.
Verdict: The Silky BIGBOY is a capable, heavy-duty folding saw built for homeowners, landscapers, and builders tackling thick branches and green wood. If you need serious reach and a 7.1-inch cut capacity in a folding format, this tool is an excellent choice.
