EGO POWER+ Hedge Trimmer Cordless, Electric Hedge Trimmer 26", Battery and Charger Not Included - HT2600

The EGO Power+ HT2600 is a cordless hedge trimmer built for homeowners and groundskeepers managing mature landscaping, thick hedges, and dense shrubbery. Designed as a bare tool without a bundled battery or charger, it serves property owners who want the cutting reach of a large electric trimmer without hauling extension cords across the lawn. It fits right into an existing collection of compatible outdoor equipment or gives new owners the freedom to select whichever power pack suits their property size.

Cutting performance centers on a set of 26-inch dual-action steel blades powered by a high-efficiency brushless motor. The motor drives the cutting assembly at up to 3,400 strokes per minute, producing low vibrations, long runtimes, and extended tool life. With a cut capacity reaching up to 1.2 inches, the blades can slice through substantial woody growth rather than merely shearing soft green shoots. Beneath the steel blades sits an industry-first carbon fiber rail that provides structural strength and is backed by a lifetime warranty. Additionally, the tool features a fully serviceable gearbox that makes blade sharpening fast and straightforward when regular maintenance comes due.

Handling flexibility comes from a five-position, 180-degree rotating handle. This mechanism lets you twist the rear grip relative to the cutting bar, allowing you to trim vertical hedge faces or awkward shrub corners while keeping your wrists at natural, comfortable angles. Runtime reaches up to 60 minutes on a single charge when paired with the recommended 2.5Ah battery, though the tool operates with any battery in the EGO 56V ARC Lithium system.

The main trade-off to consider is that the HT2600 ships without a power source. You will need to supply an EGO 56V ARC Lithium battery and a compatible charger before you can begin trimming. Furthermore, the 26-inch cutting bar provides substantial reach for wide hedges, but the listing does not state the overall weight of the tool, so buyers who prefer ultra-compact equipment should account for the physical footprint of a long blade assembly.

Verdict: The EGO Power+ HT2600 is an excellent match for homeowners with thick bushes, mature shrubs, or expansive hedges who already own or plan to invest in EGO 56V batteries. Its 1.2-inch cut capacity, high-speed brushless motor, and rotating handle deliver serious cutting capability for demanding landscape chores.

• Manage thick, woody hedges with branch diameters measuring up to 1.2 inches that stall smaller shears.
• Need wide reach from a 26-inch blade to level broad hedge tops and tall privacy screens evenly.

Consider something else if you:

• Need a ready-to-use kit out of the box and do not want to purchase a battery and charger separately.
• Work exclusively in tiny courtyard gardens where a shorter blade bar would maneuver much more easily.

Confirm on the listing:

• Check whether you currently own an EGO 56V ARC Lithium battery and charger or need to purchase them separately.
• Check the package contents to verify that you are receiving the bare tool model (HT2600).
• Measure your storage space or shed wall to ensure you have adequate room for a 26-inch blade bar.
• Check the branch thicknesses in your yard to confirm that the 1.2-inch cut capacity matches your trimming tasks.

How to compare your options: When shopping for a cordless hedge trimmer, pay close attention to cut capacity, blade stroke speed, and handle design. This model stands out with a 1.2-inch branch capacity, an operating speed of up to 3,400 strokes per minute, and a five-position 180-degree rotating handle. If you already use the 56V ARC Lithium platform, pairing this bare tool with your existing batteries offers a convenient and capable trimming solution.

Start by reading any included manufacturer documentation before inserting a charged 56V ARC Lithium battery. Adjust the five-position, 180-degree handle into a position that keeps your hands and wrists neutral before starting on horizontal tops or vertical sides of your hedges.

Work along the hedge line smoothly, allowing the 3,400 SPM cutting speed and dual-action steel blades to slice through stems without forcing the tool through branches exceeding the 1.2-inch limit. Take advantage of the carbon fiber rail for rigid, straight cuts along hedge tops.

Remove the battery pack before performing any inspection, cleaning, or maintenance. Keep the dual-action steel blades clear of plant residue, and access the serviceable gearbox whenever blade sharpening is required to maintain crisp, clean cutting edges across seasons.
