Highlights
- LIGHTWEIGHT BUT POWERFUL: Ergonomic perfection. Tough yet comfortable to use, and long enough to make short work of your hedge trimming duties.
- 22‘’ CUTTING REACH: Enough length for flat tops and long, even sides. Yet still nimble enough to round the corners. We didn’t arbitrarily pick 22 inch—we think it’s just right.
- SAME BATTERY, EXPANDABLE POWER: The same battery powers over 75+ 20V, 40V, and 80V lifestyle, garden, and power tools in the PowerShare family. Comes with a charger and a 2.0Ah, 20V max lithium PowerShare battery you can use to power this or any other WORX 20V PowerShare tool.
- GRAB N’ GO: The D-grip handle lets you hold it from any angle and cut from any position that’s comfortable. Plus, it gives you the leverage to hoist it up high for the tops of tall hedges, or hold it down low for undergrowth.
- CUTS TWICE AS NICE: The dual-action blades cut once, then catches that branch again on the way back, just to make sure. For a trim that’s twice as clean, twice as powerful, twice as fast.
- DESIGNED TO ABSORB VIBRATION: A ¾ inch blade gap gets around those branches and rips right through them, while the overmold construction on the grips dissipates all that power so you hardly feel a thing.
- CUT THE CORD: You don’t have to worry about doubling back and catching the cord. Enjoy the freedom of cordless, rechargeable, power gardening tools equipped with PowerShare batteries.

Detailed Review
The WORX WG261 20V Cordless Hedge Trimmer provides a portable solution for maintaining hedges, bushes, and garden greenery without the hassle of dragging extension cords. Designed for everyday yard maintenance, this tool suits homeowners looking for a balance between reaching length and maneuverability around landscape corners.
Equipped with a 22-inch cutting reach, the trimmer is sized to handle long, flat hedge tops while remaining agile enough for shaping curved edges. Its dual-action blades cut once and catch the branch again on the return stroke, producing a clean cut quickly. A 3/4-inch blade gap lets the blades capture thicker branches, while the overmold grip construction is built to dissipate vibrations during operation.
Handling is aided by a D-grip design that lets you operate the tool comfortably from virtually any angle. This configuration provides the necessary leverage whether hoisting the trimmer up high to tackle tall hedges or pointing it downward to manage dense lower undergrowth. It is powered by an included 20V Max 2.0Ah lithium PowerShare battery, which can be swapped directly into more than 75 other 20V, 40V, and 80V tools in the same product family.
While the cordless system eliminates tangled wires, you are working with a single included 2.0Ah battery, and the product data does not specify exact runtime or charging speed. Larger properties with extensive hedges may require extra batteries to finish cutting without stopping to recharge.
Verdict: The WORX WG261 is an ideal pick for homeowners who want a versatile, cordless trimmer for medium-to-large yard hedges. It is especially practical for anyone who already uses or plans to expand into the 20V PowerShare tool ecosystem.
