WORKPRO 7.2V Cordless Grass Shear & Shrubbery Trimmer

The WORKPRO 7.2V Cordless Grass Shear and Shrubbery Trimmer is a compact 2-in-1 garden tool designed for quick yard cleanups, lawn edging, and small bush shaping. Weighing just 0.82 pounds, it gives beginners and elderly gardeners an accessible option that can be operated easily with one hand without heavy lifting.

The trimmer comes equipped with an upgraded motor and two distinct blades: a 5.9-inch shrub shear and a 4.17-inch grass shear. Switching between mowing borders and trimming light shrubbery requires no extra tools. For added comfort, the safety button sits directly on top of the handle rather than on the side, making it much easier to hold and activate for people with smaller hands.

Power comes from an integrated 2000mAh battery that charges via a standard USB-C cable in about 2 to 3 hours. Because it uses a 5V/2A input, you can recharge it using standard phone plugs, power banks, laptops, or car ports. Safety is handled through a dual lock system: once the machine starts by pressing and holding the switch, you can release the safety lock to continue your cut.

This tool is built strictly for light yard maintenance. The hedge blade is rated for branches under 7.95 mm thick, so it will not replace heavy-duty cutters for thick limbs. It also requires basic maintenance, including keeping the blades clean and dry after use and recharging the battery every 3 to 6 months if left unused in storage. You may also notice blue lubricating oil around the gear, which is normal for rust protection.

Verdict: The WORKPRO 7.2V Grass Shear is an excellent choice for anyone needing a lightweight, easy-to-handle tool for basic lawn edges, perennial deadheading, and light twig maintenance. It offers versatile USB-C charging and comfortable one-handed control for quick gardening tasks.

The blue viscous liquid coming from the blade gear is lubricating oil. It is completely normal and helps lubricate the internal gear while preventing rust.

How do I start and operate the trimmer?
You press and hold the ON/OFF switch along with the top-mounted safety lock to start the machine. Once it is running, you can release the safety lock while keeping the switch held down.

How long does the battery take to charge?
The 2000mAh battery takes approximately 2 to 3 hours to reach a full charge using a compatible 5V/2A USB-C source.

What maintenance does the tool require?
Blades must be cleaned and kept dry after every use to extend their life. If you do not use the tool often, recharge the battery every 3 to 6 months to maintain battery health.
