WORX 20V 12" 2-in-1 Cordless String Trimmer & Electric Lawn Edger, WG163

The WORX WG163 is a 2-in-1 cordless yard care tool designed to handle both routine lawn trimming and precise edge detailing. Weighing just 5.5 pounds, it combines a string trimmer and a dedicated wheeled edger into a single lightweight platform suited for homeowners who want tidy lawn borders without managing multiple heavy tools.

Switching from trimming to edging takes only seconds, aided by rubberized wheels that support the tool weight and guide straight tracking along driveways and sidewalks. The trimming head tilts a full 90 degrees, letting you match the angle of steep slopes or navigate under low-clearance obstacles. An adjustable spacer guard extends past the cutting swath to keep delicate flowers and garden accents safe from accidental line strikes.

Line management is handled via a push-button command feed system, dispensing fresh 0.065-inch line instantly without the need to bump the head on the ground. Power comes from the WORX 20V Power Share platform, and the package includes two 20V maxLithium batteries alongside a 20V charger, allowing you to swap packs directly into other 20V and 40V tools in the same brand ecosystem.

As for trade-offs, the cutting width is 12 inches with a 10-inch line length, which offers agile handling but covers less ground per pass than larger cutting heads. The 0.065-inch line is intended for standard grass trimming rather than thick, woody brush. Additionally, the listing does not mention specific runtimes per battery charge.

Verdict: The WORX WG163 is an excellent match for homeowners seeking a lightweight, versatile yard tool that handles both trimming and edge work. With two included batteries, wheeled guidance, and instant push-button line feeding, it provides convenient everyday lawn maintenance.
