EGO POWER+ Chain Saw, 18" Battery Powered Chainsaw with Battery - CS1815

The EGO POWER+ CS1815 is a cordless electric chainsaw built to provide the cutting capability of a 50cc gas saw without fuel mixing or pull cords. Designed for heavy yard clearing, it is sized for felling tall trees, taking down thick branches, and processing large logs. Homeowners and property managers with extensive tree maintenance will appreciate its high-output cutting system.

Performance comes from a 2500W brushless motor that drives the 18-inch bar and chain at speeds up to 22 m/s. The chain features a 3/8-inch low profile with a 0.50-inch gauge and 62 drive links, tailored for aggressive cutting tasks. Power is supplied by a 56V 6.0Ah ARC Lithium battery capable of delivering up to 330 cuts on 4x4 lumber on a single charge. Routine adjustments are straightforward thanks to a tool-free dial that tightens the chain quickly.

The chainsaw includes modern monitoring features, notably a color digital display that shows real-time cut speed, battery charge level, the LED light status, and whether the safety brake is engaged. For working in dim conditions or emergencies, an adjustable LED work light illuminates the cut line. When power runs low, the included CH3200 charger restores the battery to full capacity in 80 minutes, and the pack can be swapped into any other EGO 56V tool.

Keep in mind that while the 80-minute charge time is solid for a high-capacity 6.0Ah pack, continuous all-day projects will require an extra battery to avoid downtime. Additionally, the aggressive 18-inch bar size is engineered for substantial woodcutting, which may be more saw than necessary for simple shrub trimming or small garden cleanup.

Verdict: The EGO CS1815 is an excellent investment for property owners who need heavy-duty cutting power and long runtime from a battery-powered platform. Its robust motor, informative digital screen, and 5-year tool warranty make it a dependable choice for serious woodcutting.
