Detailed Review
The Gerber EXO-MOD Pack Saw is a specialized cutting tool designed to keep pack weight down during hunting trips, camping excursions, backpacking, and hiking. Measuring 7.55 inches overall and weighing just 2.6 ounces, it provides a dedicated sawing edge for outdoor chores without adding significant bulk to your gear loadout.
Construction centers around a 7Cr steel sawtooth blade built with a full tang design, giving the tool structural integrity despite its minimal frame. The skeletonized handle strips away extra mass, while the slender profile makes it easy to slip into a backpack pocket or wear directly on your hip.
For carry and storage, the saw includes a snap-together sheath with a stackable system, allowing it to integrate neatly alongside compatible gear. Its bright orange finish also aids in quick visual identification among your outdoor essentials.
Because this saw prioritizes low weight and compactness with a 7.55-inch total length, it is not built for large timber or heavy-duty clearing tasks. The open skeletonized handle also trades textured padding for minimal weight, which is worth considering if you prefer thick, cushioned grips.
Verdict: The Gerber EXO-MOD Pack Saw is an ideal choice for hunters, backpackers, and campers who need a lightweight, packable cutting tool. If you want a durable 7Cr steel saw that will not weigh down your hip or pack, it is well worth picking up.
