Gerber Vital Pack Compact Folding Saw for Camping and Survival with Sheath

The Gerber Vital Pack Saw is a dedicated field-dressing tool designed to handle big game processing without weighing down your hunting kit. With an overall length of 6 inches and a weight of just 3 ounces, it gives hunters and outdoors enthusiasts a dedicated cutting edge that fits easily into any setup without adding bulk.

The cutting power comes from a 3.4-inch corrosion-resistant steel blade featuring cross-cut saw teeth. Gerber built this tool with a blunt tip specifically to eliminate the risk of puncturing delicate internal areas when working on game. Handling is managed by a T-shaped ergonomic handle featuring a high-visibility orange color and a textured rubber overmold, providing a solid grip when pulling through cuts.

For transport, the tool includes a pull catch mechanism and a dedicated fabric sheath that mounts directly onto a belt or backpack. This setup makes it suitable for everyday carry, bushcraft, hiking, toolbox storage, and general camping trips in addition to hunting tasks.

Because the blade is compact at 3.4 inches, this tool is geared for targeted processing rather than sawing thick firewood or clearing heavy brush. Buyers should also note that it uses a specialized T-handle design rather than a traditional inline folding saw layout.

Verdict: The Gerber Vital Pack Saw is an excellent choice for hunters and campers looking for a safe, ultra-lightweight bone-cutting tool. Its blunt safety tip and high-traction handle make it a dependable asset for field dressing.
