Greenworks 40V 16" Brushless Cordless Chainsaw, 4.0Ah Battery and Charger Included, Black/Green

This Greenworks 40V cordless chainsaw pairs a 1.5kW brushless motor with a 16-inch bar to provide clean cutting power for heavy-duty yard maintenance, storm cleanup, and firewood preparation. It is built for homeowners who need serious cutting capacity without dealing with gas mixtures, engine chokes, or pull cords.

The cutting setup can handle tree trunks and branches up to 28 inches in diameter. Starting the tool takes a straightforward two-step process, bypassing the physical strain of traditional pull ropes. Safety and handling features include an integrated chain brake, a low-kickback design, and an ergonomic overmolded handle that provides a secure, comfortable grip during prolonged use.

Maintenance is simplified through several built-in features. The automatic oiler keeps the bar and chain consistently lubricated, complete with a flip-up cap and a transparent viewing window to quickly verify fluid levels. When the chain slackens, tool-free tensioning lets you make adjustments in seconds without digging around for extra wrenches.

Power comes from an included 40V 4.0Ah lithium-ion battery and charger. The battery is engineered for extended runtime and holds its charge for 12 months or more when stored, meaning it stays ready between seasonal cleanups. As a trade-off, cutting capability is tied to battery charge, and owners must remember to monitor and refill the bar oil reservoir periodically.

Verdict: This 16-inch cordless chainsaw is a capable, low-maintenance option for homeowners tackling storm cleanup or cutting firewood. Backed by a 3-year warranty and compatible with other Greenworks 40V tools, it offers strong utility without the hassle of gas engines.
